Joe Waters’ passion for music is felt in every show he plays… “BBQ & Blues, Festival or Cruise, Wineries & Bars, Breweries & Farms, I’ll come to your back porch” …no matter how big or small the show is, Joe pours out his whole heart and soul!

Joe’s band came together on the back porch of a local brewery where he held weekly jams. Their start out on the back porch of Trail Town Brewery in YellowSprings Ohio is how the band got its name.
More About Joe
Early Start
Joe was fortunate to be born to parents who supported his pursuit of music from an early age. His father, Jack Waters, is a great guitarist and also his first teacher.
At the age of 5, when Joe was out to dinner with his family at a Cracker Barrel, he was allowed to pick out a toy in the gift shop… Joe chose a harmonica, but it didn’t stay a child’s toy for long!
Along the way
By the time Joe was 10years old, he was out giggin’ with his dad, who also took Joe to blues jams and encouraged him to learn from other musicians.
Along the way Joe learned more than guitar and harmonica, becoming a proficient drummer and finding his voice as a lead singer. From an early age he was writing songs, and by 20 he had established himself as the powerful songwriter we hear today.
Awards & Accomplishments
As a father-son duo, Jack & Joe Waters recorded 4 albums and went to the IBC’s 3 times, making it to semi-finals on of those times.
As a solo artist, he won 1st Place at the 2022 Telluride Blues Challange.
Joe’s first solo Album “In The Hot Seat” was recorded and released in 2023.
Then in 2024, Joe Waters earned 1st Place in the solo/duo category at the International Blues Challenge.
Joe spent the summer of 2024 opening up George Thorogood & The Destroyers, including two international shows, and he also toured as a solo Musicain all over The USA.
Through out 2025, Joe focused on his first band-backed album, named “Joe Waters and The Back Porch Band”. Recorded in Nashville Tennessee - the Music City - at Pentivari Studios - Produced by AJ Fullerton and Sound Engineered by Zach Allen.
